On June 24th and 25th I will be participating in my 9th Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.  I will be walking 39.3 miles over 2 days with my sister, Kerry and my best friend, Candice in an effort to raise money and awareness in the fight to end breast cancer.

So much has happened since becoming involved in this cause in 2009 and each year I am amazed by the number of people I meet who have been impacted by breast cancer because they are or know a survivor or more sadly because they have a lost a loved one to this disease.

Many of you know in 2014 I faced my own diagnosis with breast cancer.  It was detected early and with surgery and radiation I am now a survivor on a lifelong journey of preventing recurrence.  It is organizations like the Avon Foundation, and many others, that raise money to help create the technological advancements that allowed for testing and treatment and for me to be cancer free so quickly.
