My name is Felicia Bramante. I am fourteen years old an honored to have been chosen to participate in the Boston Avon Walk Youth Crew. This is my third year being apart of this amazing event, and I am more excited and determined then ever. This year the 39.3 mile walk will be held on July 9-10. My team and I arrive ready to work for the entire weekend on July 8th. We sleep in tents just as the walkers do and help prepare them for this important cause. Our time is spent supporting all the walkers by making sure that they have enough water and gatorade, helping with their tents, cleaning their bathrooms etc., and most importantly, cheering them on throughout the weekend so that they know how important we think they are for making this commitment to help raise money for a cure. Our goal is to make sure that they reach their personal goal.
There are many reasons I do this, but mainly it is in support of my Auntie Donna, who is a two time breast cancer survivor. She is the most courageous person I know. When she was diagnosed, I was only two and I didn’t quite understand everything about breast cancer. When I was old enough to understand the impact that it had on my family, I realized that I could help. It has inspired me to spread the word and hope that other families never have to endure the pain and heart ache that is caused by this devastating disease.
Please join me by making a donation to my fundraising campaign on my website at info.avonfoundation.org. If you prefer to mail your donation instead, just make it out to Avon Walk 39 and send it to me, at 75 East Street, Middleton, MA 01949.
Thank you in advance,
Felicia Bramante
