One in eight women are diagnosed with breast cancer - I never thought I would be that one, but standing in the lab with our pathologist looking in the microscope it became clear that I was beginning a new journey. It was a journey that included four surgeries, multiple trips to MDAnderson and the expertise of some exceptional physicians. But because of this exceptional care and many many prayers I am told that I am cured.

I know how lucky I am and have decided to participate in the AVON 39 The Walk to End Breast Cancer. The walk is in Boston on June 24 and 25 and is 39.3 miles. It won't be easy, but that's why it's worth it. This walk gives me a goal and the opportunity to regain my strength. I'll also be raising funds to crush breast cancer. This is where you come in.
