This is the 2nd Avon 39 walk for me. Last year's changed my life. It was my hardest physical challenge to date, but nothing compared to chemo treatments and surgery. Nothing compared to telling your family you have a dreadful disease. Nothing compared to body-altering surgery and treatments. Nothing compared to losing a loved one.
Last year's emotional quest was for my mother. This year, knowing that I can, knowing that I must, buoyed by strangers who became friends, the quest continues for those we lost and futures still unknown.
