It’s that time of year, time for me to step up and step out in the annual Avon walk for breast cancer 2016... This two-day journey is one with many tears and laughter all for a great cause. I started my journey 12 years ago with the loss of my little sister Mimi, I have much lost to cancer at this point in my life, so I feel that the steps I take are more important than ever.
As many of you know I lost my mom just before the walk last year. The hardest thing in the world for me was to try and be in two places at one time where my heart was broken in both. Team KRTY came together and found a way so I could be part of the walk even not being here. Their version of where’s Waldo was “stick Tina” that traveled along the walk to make the journey in the fight for breast cancer so I didn’t miss out. I have even more to do this year, I’ve lost many to cancer so it’s even more important than ever to walk. We travel up and down the street to San Francisco through Sausalito in the Corte Madera and back through the streets of the city in our two-day journey.
I’m reaching out asking for your help with fundraising to continue to help find a cure for this ugly disease. I walked for you, I walked for me, I walked for Mimi, daddy, my mama, my friends, and the many I don’t even know that are touched by the dollars we raise in this fight till we find the cure .
