2017: AVON 39 The Walk to End Breast Cancer: San Francisco

Team Leslie

Team Leslie will be walking the Avon39 with a heavy heart and inspired courage on July 8th and 9th, 2017. As we honor our beautiful friend Leslie Martin, and all the friends and family that have been diagnosed with breast cancer. We carry their bravery every step of the 39 miles.

In 2013 Leslie and 5 friends joined the walk and completed it. One week later she was diagnosed with breast cancer. The fight was real and she just became the 1 in 8 to be diagnosed.

Leslie was strong and fierce in her journey to get well. She wanted to walk in 2016 but due to the chemo and radiation, she was not able to. However, she was happily on the route cheering and there at the finish line to say thank you. During the dinner of celebration, she asked us, “You’re going to walk next year, right?” Five months later Leslie lost the fight December 29, 2016.

So here we are, walking the 2017 AVON39 in Leslie’s memory with the hope and faith we don’t lose any more loved ones.

PLEASE SUPPORT US AND DONATE TO TEAM LESLIE walkers: Kelly Heath, Sharie Giovannoni, Alicia Vargas, Darcie Galle, Adrianna Balentine, Deanna McClain, Terry Guthrie, Jessie Vasquez Bryning, Jeanne Vargas & Teresa Rourke. By donating you will help our team raise over $18,000 towards research, treatment, screening and support. We know she will be smiling and walking with us each step of the way!
